Students Across the U.S. Receive College Scholarships from Telecommunications Relay Service Provider Hamilton Relay

Hamilton Relay, a leading telecommunications relay service provider, has awarded 17 students each with a $500 college scholarship. Hamilton Relay Scholarships are available to high school seniors who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind or have difficulty speaking in each of the states where Hamilton is the contracted relay and/or captioned telephone service provider.

"We believe in acknowledging exceptional students for their academic excellence and outstanding leadership," said vice president of Hamilton Relay, Dixie Ziegler. "We are proud to contribute to furthering these students' education and are confident that they will be successful in reaching their personal and professional goals."

Each of the following students were awarded a $500 Hamilton Scholarship after completing an application and writing an essay about communication technology:

  • Mechelle Cureaux, from Slidell, Louisiana, student at Slidell High School

  • Jacob Buck, from Presque Isle, Maine, student at Presque Isle High School

  • Casey Green, from Ashland, Pennsylvania, student at Tri-Valley Junior-Senior High School

  • Samantha H. Collins, from Warwick, Rhode Island, student at Toll Gate High School

  • BreAna Stokes, from Kearns, Utah, student at Skyline High School

  • Daniel Hildreth, from Chandler, Arizona, student at Mountain View High School

  • Lauren Sebaugh, from Chesterfield, Missouri, student at Model Secondary School for the Deaf in Washington, D.C.

  • Dustin Schroeder, from Watkinsville, Georgia, student at Oconee County High School

  • Kelli Ann Peters, from Sac City, Iowa, student at East Sac County High School

  • Jeremy Hegman, from Twin Falls, Idaho, student at Twin Falls High School

  • Shanice White, from Frankfort, Kentucky, student at the Kentucky School for the Deaf

  • Olivia Smith, from Bishopville, Maryland, student at Stephen Decatur High School

  • Payal Sharmacharya, from Lenexa, Kansas, student at Shawnee Mission East High School

  • Chelsea Klytta, from Mount Juliet, Tennessee, student at Mount Juliet High School

  • Aimee Fischer, from Lakeside, California, student at River Valley Charter School

  • Kara Mongell, from North Andover, Massachusetts, student at North Andover High School

  • Nolan Riley, from Rio Rancho, New Mexico, recent graduate of V. Sue Cleveland High School
