Lucy Crabtree selected for Hamilton Relay 2015 Better Hearing and Speech Month Recognition Award for the State of Kansas

Lucy Crabtree of Lawrence has been selected as the Hamilton Relay 2015 Better Hearing and Speech Month Recognition Award recipient for the state of Kansas. She is described by her peers as being a welcoming leader and positive motivator for individuals who are hard of hearing.

Lucy is active in the Hearing Loss Association of America Kansas City chapter (HLAAKC) and has served in many roles, including chair, co-chair, and member of the steering committee. Lucy was also responsible for organizing the annual HLAAKC picnic by gathering vendors to share and provide resources to attendees. Through her efforts in reaching out to chapter members through email blasts, attendance at events and meetings has increased. In addition to her work within the local community, Lucy represented the Kansas City chapter at the 2011 and 2012 HLAA national conventions.

Lucy is a goal-oriented individual who is motivated to make a positive change in improving accessibility for individuals who are hard of hearing. We commend Lucy for her hard work, positivity and leadership and are pleased to present her with the Hamilton Relay 2015 Better Hearing and Speech Month Recognition Award for the state of Kansas.
