Linda Pouliot selected for Hamilton Relay 2013 Better Hearing and Speech Month Recognition Award for the State of Montana

November, 09 2013

Described as having a zest for life, Linda Pouliot is a tireless advocate for individuals who are hard of hearing – always educating those in her business, church and community about the importance of accessibility for those with a hearing loss. Linda grew up as one of eleven children in her family, five of whom have a hearing loss. Working as a hairdresser in her community, Linda lip reads and uses an FM system to communicate with her clients. She also continuously educates her clients on the importance of communication with individuals who are deaf.

Linda is an active volunteer and leader for numerous organizations and activities. She has been a long-time supporter of the Montana Telecommunications Access Program (MTAP) and Montana Relay. She testified in front of Montana State Legislature on behalf of MTAP. As the keynote speaker at the Montana School for the Deaf and Blind Learning Weekend, Linda was an encouragement for all, sharing her experience of growing up with hearing loss and the challenges she faced along the way. Linda is a member of St. Helena Cathedral church.

We commend Linda Pouliot for being an inspiration to others in her community. We thank her for her leadership and are pleased to honor her as the recipient of the Hamilton Relay 2013 Better Hearing and Speech Month Recognition Award for the State of Montana.

This leadership recognition has been brought to you by Hamilton Relay.
