Linda has been a leader for individuals with hearing loss and in the community of Idaho at large for many years. Her volunteerism and commitment to a variety of activities and organizations is exemplary.
Linda established a local Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) chapter in Sandpoint where she has served as president and secretary for five years. She was also instrumental in obtaining a grant from the Panhandle Arts Alliance to install assistive listening devices at the Panida Theatre so that individuals with hearing loss can attend and enjoy the various shows.
Within the Idaho community at large, Linda has been a committed member and devoted volunteer to the following:
- The Order of the Eastern Star; Linda has been a member for 50 years, serving the local chapter as Worthy Matron, Grand Representative, Grand Martha, Historian, Treasurer and Secretary.
- Bonner General Hospital Auxiliary; Linda currently works in the business office part-time and is active in local parades and various community fundraising event.
- Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority; A 50 year member, Linda has been treasurer of the local chapter for 6 years and assists in the sorority's booth at the annual County Fair to raise money for various high school scholarships.
- Bonner County Citizens By-Pass Aesthetics Committee; Linda has participated on the committee for the past two years and has contributed several ideas for aspects of the By-Pass project.
Linda Ousley is truly deserving of this recognition and we commend her for the tireless efforts she has put forth in working with the community and various organizations.
