Kaye Elizabeth Wallace selected for Hamilton Relay 2014 Better Hearing and Speech Month Recognition Award for the State of Louisiana

May, 29 2014

Kaye Elizabeth Wallace of Sulphur, Louisiana is described as a giver with a strong motivation to be of service to others. Remaining true to her steadfast commitment as a volunteer, she easily demonstrates her self-motivation and desire in improving the lives of individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Kaye is an outstanding volunteer in Calcasieu parish and in her community, serving tirelessly through several organizations. She volunteers at her church by helping in the preschool department and teaching Bible School each summer. She also regularly volunteers with Louisiana Hands and Voices.

Kaye is a member, for more than eight years, of the Silver Spurs Rodeo Club, where she won a number of events throughout her participation. She is extremely active in her high school where she teaches sign language to hearing students and is a reading tutor for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. She is also involved in the Key Club and performs community service weekly by volunteering after school in Barbe High School’s “Green Bucs” - the school’s recycling program.

We commend Kaye for her motivation and desire to make a difference in her community and are pleased to honor her as the recipient of the Hamilton Relay 2014 Better Hearing and Speech Month Recognition Award for the State of Louisiana.
