Jim Kelly of Great Falls, Montana serves the deaf and hard of hearing community with integrity, honesty and kindness. His peers say he has the ability to lead with inspiration and collaborate harmoniously with individuals and groups. His positive attitude is eminent through his ability to unite individuals in the community together.
Jim works at the Montana School for the Deaf & Blind (MSDB). Over the course of 30 years, his role at MSDB included Behavioral Counselor, Supervising Counselor and most recently, Dean of Students. As the Dean of Students, Jim leads school and campus tours and is instrumental in the planning of two Family Learning Weekends each year. Jim also focuses his efforts in the residential program at MSDB where he organizes the residential component for enrichment weekends and the weekend for games. Additionally, he was responsible for the initial implementation of the Independent Living Skills Program for juniors and seniors, which is still in operation today.
Furthermore, Jim is a member of the Great Falls Lion’s Club and the Grizzly Scholarship Association. He also sat on the Board of Directors for the United States Association for Blind Athletes for 14 years.
