Minda Nelson is an inspiration to individuals with hearing loss. Her positive attitude, determination to succeed, and strong leadership abilities are an asset to her community, her employer and to her friends and family alike.
Having been born with profound hearing loss in both ears, Minda has embraced her disability and readily shares her experience, knowledge and words of encouragement with others with hearing loss. She is currently the treasurer and co-founder of the Kansas City Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) where she has helped champion the mission of the organization while balancing work, home life, and chapter responsibilities.
Amongst Minda's many achievements, she holds a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering and works for a prestigious engineering firm in Kansas City. Others have referred to her as, "a warm, charismatic leader who makes things happen." She has also been described as being comfortable with technology and speaks her mind eloquently on subjects relating to hearing loss.
