Elizabeth Ralston selected for Hamilton Relay 2021 Better Hearing and Speech Month Recognition Award for the State of Washington

June, 11 2021

Every year Hamilton Relay, Washington Relay’s contracted traditional relay and captioned telephone service provider, puts out a call for nominations from various communities for an individual who has made a significant contribution toward accessibility and quality of life in the areas of hearing loss and/or speech differences.

Hamilton Relay is proud to recognize Elizabeth Ralston, an accessibility consultant and founder of the Seattle Cultural Accessibility Consortium, a grassroots effort to connect arts and cultural organizations with information and resources to improve accessibility for people of all abilities. The consortium is the first of its kind in the Seattle area to address inequities in accessing arts events, programs and spaces.

Elizabeth has a Master of Public Health from the University of Michigan and a certificate of Nonprofit Management from the University of Washington. She has more than 20 years of experience working with nonprofits, government agencies, and academic institutions.

She is a seasoned storyteller, committed to amplifying the voices of marginalized communities. As a Peace Corps Volunteer, Elizabeth experienced first-hand the powerful impact a person can have on others’ lives. She has devoted her life to public service ever since.

She contributes directly to the community in a variety of ways by contributing her time as a Board of Trustee member and a Diversity & Equity Group member of the Billings Middle School. Elizabeth also coaches nonprofits via the Fast Pitch Program, Social Venture Partners in which some of the nonprofits went on to win awards.

This leadership recognition has been brought to you by Hamilton Relay.
