Darcy Sinsley of Post Falls, Idaho has been selected as the Hamilton Relay Deaf Community Leader Award recipient for the state of Idaho. Darcy is described by her peers as a caring and organized leader in Idaho’s Deaf community.
Darcy is an active member of the Idaho Association of the Deaf (IAD) and serves on the board as a member at-large. She also served on IAD’s social media committee. Darcy has also dedicated her time to helping plan the IAD Conferences and is the chair for the 2017 conference planned in northern Idaho.
Darcy was an essential part of bringing back the Miss Deaf Idaho and Idaho Deaf Youth Program (IDYP) to the state. As part of IDYP, she scheduled the first leadership retreat and competition to select a representative to compete at the Youth Ambassador Program at the 2015 National Association of the Deaf (NAD) convention.
Darcy is a leader in northern Idaho’s Deaf community and was a leader in planning the Walk4ASL North Idaho events and many North Idaho Deaf Club (NIDC) events. She has gone above and beyond to ensure the Deaf community of Idaho continues to grow.
