April 30, 2010 – By acknowledging that opportunities for higher education affect the future of high school students, including students who are deaf, hard of hearing or speech disabled, Hamilton Relay, the telecommunications relay service provider for the state of Pennsylvania, has awarded Tiffany Ann Putt of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania and student of Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, a $500 college scholarship.

Hamilton Relay offered the scholarship to 2010 graduating high school seniors who are deaf, hard of hearing or speech disabled within each of the states where they provide relay service. Hamilton takes pride in promoting education and outstanding leadership among members of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Communities across the country. "We are excited that we have the opportunity to contribute to furthering Tiffany's education and wish her success in reaching her personal and professional goals," said Hamilton National Outreach Manager, John Fechter.

Tiffany was awarded the $500 Hamilton Scholarship after completing an application and writing an essay under the topic of communication technology. Tiffany plans to attend Gallaudet University in Washington D.C. in the fall.
