May, 17 2011

Hamilton Relay, telecommunications relay service provider for the state of Georgia, has awarded a $500 college scholarship to Dustin Schroeder, a student of Oconee County High School from Watkinsville, Georgia.

The Hamilton Relay Scholarship opportunity is offered to high school seniors who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind or have difficulty speaking. A recipient is selected within each of the states where Hamilton is the contracted relay service provider and is one of several ways the company gives back to the communities they serve.

"Hamilton takes pride in promoting education and outstanding leadership across the country," said Georgia Outreach Coordinator, Karin Sack. "We are excited to have the opportunity to contribute to furthering Dustin Schroeder's education and wish him success in reaching his personal and professional goals."

Dustin Schroeder was awarded the $500 Hamilton Scholarship after completing an application and writing an essay under the topic of communication technology. Dustin plans to attend Rochester Institute of Technology this fall to study Biomedical Engineering.
