Jacqueline Broussard of Lafayette, Louisiana has been selected as the Hamilton Relay Deaf Community Leader Award recipient for the state of Louisiana. Jacqueline’s peers describe her as a leader who meets every challenge with a positive attitude.
Jacqueline is very active in the Deaf-Blind community and is the Lafayette representative of Louisiana Acadiana Deaf-Blind Citizens. She is also the chair of Helen Keller Deaf-Blind Awareness Committee, as well as a member of the Support Service Provider Advisory Committee with the Louisiana Commission of the Deaf and Affiliated Blind of Louisiana.
For 20 years, Jacqueline organized Deaf-Blind Camp. She has also facilitated a Deaf-Blind support group and organized social events for Deaf-Blind organizations. In addition, Jacqueline planned the Annual Deaf-Blind Retreat fundraiser.
