Hamilton Relay Expanding Workforce in Baton Rouge Center

December, 05 2013

Hamilton Relay, a leading Telecommunications Relay and Captioned Telephone services provider, announced today that it is expanding its workforce at its Baton Rouge, Louisiana center.

Hamilton Relay’s Baton Rouge center was established in 1998 and is one of Hamilton’s five centers that process relay calls for individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind or have difficulty speaking. Since 2011, Hamilton Relay expanded to add captioning assistant positions in its Louisiana, Nebraska and Maryland facilities. Continued growth of Hamilton’s captioned telephone services on a nationwide basis is now driving the need to once again expand in these locations.

“This expansion is a testament to Hamilton’s commitment to provide customers with the latest, most technologically advanced solutions and personalized customer care,” said Dixie Ziegler, vice president of Hamilton Relay.

Bonnie Eades, president of the Louisiana Relay Administration Board, added that, “It’s exciting to see the growth of Hamilton Relay’s center in Baton Rouge. The benefits are two-fold as the expansion of Hamilton’s services benefits the many individuals who use relay and captioned telephone services throughout the state, while the growth of employment and resulting growth in the local and state tax base assists in providing economic stability in the area.”

The company looks to immediately fill up to 40 new captioning assistant positions in the Baton Rouge facility. Additionally, Hamilton has openings for communication assistant positions to process telecommunications relay calls in English, and is looking to hire bilingual English-Spanish speaking individuals to process Spanish relay calls as well.

Applications for available positions can be completed online at www.workforhamilton.com, or in person at the Baton Rouge Center located at 9107 Bluebonnet Centre Blvd, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. For more information, contact Human Resources via email at HR@HamiltonTel.com or call 225-291-4500.

About Captioned Telephone Relay Service
Captioned Telephone Relay Service (CTRS) is designed for individuals who have difficulty hearing on the telephone. Captioned Telephone (CapTel®) technology, developed by Ultratec, Inc. of Madison, Wisconsin, allows individuals to view word-for-word captions of what’s being said to them on a display screen of a CapTel phone – similar to captions on television.

Using a CapTel phone, users can “see what they say” and not miss a word of their telephone conversations. Behind the scenes, a specially trained captioning assistant re-voices everything said by the standard phone user into state-of-the-art voice recognition software. The speech is then converted almost simultaneously into text that appears on the CapTel phone. Captions are available in English or Spanish. More information is available at www.hamiltoncaptel.com.
