Toni Chapman of Pomona, California has been selected as the Hamilton Relay 2020 Deaf Community Leader Award recipient for the state of California. According to her peers, she is a leader in the community who always has a positive attitude and is willing to help.
Toni has been a co-chair on the board of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Advisory Committee (DHHAC) for two years. She devotes her time to volunteer for several fundraisers, including 5K races, Deaf events and a deaf-blind summer camp.
Toni previously worked for the Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness (GLAAD) and currently works for the Helen Keller National Center (HKNC). She assists individuals who are deaf or deaf-blind with finding and sustaining employment.
