Sharon Bryant selected for Hamilton Relay 2016 Deaf Community Leader Award for the State of Tennessee

Sharon Bryant of Chattanooga, Tennessee has been selected as the Hamilton Relay Deaf Community Leader Award recipient for the state of Tennessee.

A celebrated advocate, Sharon has been noted for her consistent and proactive efforts for individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or deaf-blind in her community and across the state. Sharon’s activity in the Deaf community includes decades of service that’s highlighted by years of leadership at the Tennessee Coalition for Improving Mental Health Services for Individuals who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind and Hard of Hearing, an organization she is credited as being a founding member.

In addition to the aforementioned organization, Sharon’s other community outreach efforts include, but are not limited to legislation chairperson for the Tennessee Association of the Deaf, Tennessee Council for the Deaf, Deaf-Blind and Hard of Hearing, Committee for Tennessee Support Service Provider (SSP) for Individuals who are Deaf-Blind, and Tennessee Organization of the Deaf-Blind.

Last but not least, after decades of committed service, Sharon recently retired as Client Services Manager from the Partnership Services for the Deaf in Chattanooga.
