Jeannie Taylor Selected for Hamilton Relay 2017 Better Hearing and Speech Month Recognition Award for the State of Kentucky

May, 08 2017

Jeannie Taylor, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, has been selected as the recipient of the Hamilton Relay 2017 Better Hearing and Speech Month Recognition Award for the state of Kentucky. A retired educator with 33 years of service in the Allen County School District, Jeannie primarily served special education students.

Jeannie is the co-founder and co-leader of Bowling Green’s chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA). Her community service also includes advocacy efforts with the Regional Resource Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Bowling Green, current membership on the Advisory Committee on the Need for Services for Individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, and she currently serves as the Vice Chair on the Executive Board of the Kentucky Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (KCDHH).

When not extending her talents as a volunteer in Deaf and Hard of Hearing classrooms at Natcher Elementary, she can be found on mission trips in Central America where she volunteers to teach American Sign Language (ASL) and Bible studies to Belizean children who are deaf.

We commend Jeannie for her compassion and leadership and are proud to present her with the Hamilton Relay 2017 Better Hearing and Speech Month Recognition Award for the state of Kentucky.

This leadership recognition has been brought to you by Hamilton Relay.
