Patricia Wright of District Heights, Maryland has been selected as the recipient of the Hamilton Relay 2015 Better Hearing and Speech Month Recognition Award for the District of Columbia. Patricia’s peers describe her as being a hard worker and an exceptional asset to the community.
Patricia is a familiar face as a volunteer in the DC community. From 1998 to 2012, she served as an Agency Coordinator for the DC One Fund where she was responsible for collecting pledges for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Patricia has also volunteered for the past three years in the DC Public School Beautification Day. In preparation for the first day of school, volunteers participate in a citywide “spruce up” of all DC public school buildings, including landscaping, trash pick-up, painting, planting flowers and other external beautification efforts.
Patricia is a current member of the Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) which supports development, economic growth and retention of District-based businesses. She is also an active member of the DC Chapter of Dillard & Goldsboro Alumni and Friends, Inc. She served as treasurer and was the second runner-up for Queen in 2010 – a title given to members who show exceptional dedication to their local chapter as well as the national organization. Patricia is very active in her church where she serves as a missionary and lead usher.
We commend Patricia for her passion for volunteering and dedication to the community and are proud to present her with the Hamilton Relay 2015 Better Hearing and Speech Month Recognition Award.
