Suzanne Dennis selected for Hamilton Relay 2015 Deaf Community Leader Award for the State of Kansas

Suzanne Dennis has been selected as the recipient of the Hamilton Relay 2015 Deaf Community Leader Award for the state of Kansas. Suzanne is recognized as a leader in the Deaf community and is dedicated toward bettering the lives of individuals who are deaf.

As an active member in the Deaf community, Suzanne is currently serving many organizations. She is the president of the National Counselors for the Deaf Association, an active member of the National Association for the Deaf Mental Health Sub-Committee and vice chair and Governor-appointed board member of the Kansas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (KCDHH).

Suzanne has previously served with the Greater Kansas City American Deafness and Rehabilitation Association, the Kansas chapter of the Gallaudet University Alumni Association, the Kansas Association of the Deaf and the City of Olathe’s Disabled Persons Advisory Board, among others. Her high level of involvement is a testament to her dedication and commitment to serving the members of Kansas’s Deaf community, as well improving the community as a whole.

Suzanne is highly acclaimed by her peers as a leader who isn’t afraid to tackle the tough issues that individuals who are deaf may face and as a true advocate for her community. We commend Suzanne for her commitment to advocacy and are proud to present her with the Hamilton Relay 2015 Deaf Community Leader Award for the state of Kansas.
